With over 35 years of global experience in chemical engineering, Richard Holub is a seasoned expert in process technology, innovation leadership, and international technology transfer. Throughout his distinguished career at Albemarle Corporation, Rich has played pivotal roles in growing the businesses of lithium and advanced materials, flame retardants, and polymer chemical technologies.
Rich has led the commissioning and startup of multiple manufacturing plants across the U.S., Chile, China, Europe, and Australia, ensuring successful technology integration and performance outcomes. As a Process Technology Transfer Director, he was accountable for delivering business-critical results through rigorous technical validation, risk mitigation, and cross-functional alignment.
His leadership spans from directing global technology teams and managing R&D programs to driving technology-based acquisition strategies. Rich is an inventor on numerous U.S. and international patents in lithium refining and specialty chemicals process technology, underscoring his commitment to innovation with commercial impact.
Rich earned his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Ohio University (summa cum laude) and his M.S. and D.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis.
